All right, I guess it’s time for an update. After all, I’ve been ignoring my 9:30 PM alarm to write in my journal for a month now. 😅
Four days ago, I became an uncle for the second time! Bryce & Sarah had their second child, Samuel Jefferson Smith. I didn’t visit them in the hospital this time since they had moved up to Ogden a few months ago. Yesterday, Saturday, I went up to visit them at home. This birth was much less traumatic for them both. She was able to give a natural birth this time, and in about half the time! I am sure my brother is happy that he finally has a boy.
Since my last update, I was able to take a weeklong vacation up to Joyce’s house in Seattle. Technically it was half work and she did pay me which was very nice!
Next week, Bryce and I are going to go to Atlanta, Georgia for Bryce’s nationals competition at SkillsUSA in machining.
As far as my personal life goes, I am starting to give up hope in dating. Not entirely, but my discouragement has been increasing over the last few weeks. Hannah and I had a very good run, but our differences and my in-attraction to her were too great. Last week, we did meet up at my work because she gave me her copy of Paper Mario, which I returned. We had a nice lunch and and updated each other on our lives. We haven’t messaged since then. I still spend upwards of an hour each day swiping on Mutual.
On top of the disappointment in progressing in a relationship, both of my jobs have decreased my workload to a point where I am only truly putting in about an hour of actual work a week. The imposter syndrome that once gnawed on my mind is starting to eat me alive… It literally feels like that one scene from Office Space.
To double that guilt, I am making more money than ever as well. I recently had an interview with the bishop of my ward, though to renew my temple, recommend and unfortunately I was denied because I haven’t been paying my tithing.
 I have the weirdest mix of emotions right now….
